Cinnamon leaf (cinnamomum zeylanicum) is a potent, spicy, warm, invigorating essential oil. The leaf is much different than the bark, softer and a bit sweeter. The plant is found in the wet, tropical regions of India and Southeast Asia.

I find it most useful in natural perfume compositions. It adds a bit of sweetness. It can be a skin irritant so has to be carefully blended and diluted before using it on the skin. I don't use it topically often for that reason. I do not use it internally either. You can diffuse it, again best blended with other oils to soften it.

I find it blends well with: palmarosa, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, cedar, cypress, pine, angelica, black spruce, chamomile, cardamon, lemon and mint.

Attached is a photo of me in India meeting a cinnamon bush for the first time. Such a wonderful plant.

This oil is bottled in precious violet glass. Eleven years of research went into the creation of this glass. The intention was to find the best shade of glass that would protect medicines from sunlight. The glass actually has crushed amethyst in it. I find it enhances the smell and preserves the shelf life. It's a much higher quality of glass than brown or blue glass. Many people have tried to persuade me to use cheaper, less expensive glass but my commitment is to use on the highest quality ingredients and packaging material possible. I won't compromise. I highly suggest you recycle the bottle once it is empty. You can soak it in bowl of soap and water and wash it out, use it for making your own personal blends. We sincerely hope you enjoy this wonderful essential oil.
