Phosphatidylcholine IV

Phosphatidylcholine is a naturally-occurring, integral component of every cell membrane of your body. It gives fluidity and strength to the cell membranes. It is particularly helpful in three major areas:

  • Brain Health –  many degenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS and dementia are being treated with PC. It is believed to have a regenerative effect on nerve cells and helps to enhance cell signaling and communication.
  • Liver Health – PC is a building block of liver cells and it plays an important role in the transport and metabolism of fats. Research indicates is may be helpful in the liver to recover after damage from alcohol, pollutants, viruses and other toxins. PC also plays and important role in metabolizing cholesterol.
  • Intestinal Health – PC is a lipid that has a protective effect on the mucosa of the intestinal tract. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and may benefit conditions such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease and irritable bowel disease.
PC is also an important source of choline in the body which is precurser to the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, which is important for memory. It may potentially have an effect on conditions which have low levels of acetylcholine such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s Disease. PC is often confused with lecithin; lecithin is actually a mixture of four phospholipids, one of which is PC.

Other Benefits of Phosphatidylcholine:
PC potentiates glutathione — or increases its effectiveness. People taking glutathione therapy regularly may be able to reduce the dose or decrease the frequency of therapy if taking IV PC first. As a clinical observation, Dr. Matea has seen therapy with PC assist the body with maintaining its pH balance. Some of our patients who have been following the alkaline diet and monitoring their body pH for a long time have seen a greater stability in keeping the body alkaline while taking IV PC therapy.Conditions treated with IV PC therapy:
  • Alcoholic liver disease
  • Fatty liver disease
  • Hepatitis
  • High cholesterol
  • Liver Cancer
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Bipolar Disease
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Irritable Bowel Disease – Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis
  • Eczema

What to expect with IV PC therapy?
IV PC can be given in a drip over 20-30 minutes or longer, depending on the dose. Anecdotally, people often report increase energy, improved sleep and an overall sense of well-being after PC therapy. Phosphatidylcholine is part of our Liver Detox Program
